As for what is it, it is actually a japanese summer festival held at the Japanese School- Changi Campus in Singapore.

Erm, I presumed tt all of us knows tt cosfest is approaching>DD

Just in case some ppl are clueless about cosfest, i shall explain it VERY briefly
- so cosfest is more like a " one of the big scale " cosplay event held in Spore.
- it is basically a 2 day events, on 18th july and 19th july, a sat and sun respectively.
- and admission is FREE!!
- of course, there's merchandise stalls there too, so buy whatever anime-related products you like?
It will be held during 11th July, SAT and 12th July, SUN
The venue is downtown east
Time is 1400- 1800

SIG Week Recap + Cosplay Event Photos

Whooo~! My very first post on J-Fire's blog and also my first Blogger post, lolz.

Btw, it's Janice here...

Cosplay event was a great experience I must say :) Kudos to all of you kawaii juniors who put in so much effort and enthusiasm into this. I wouldn't have dared give cosplay a try if it weren't for all of you *hugs* You guys sure outdid yourselves. At the very least, SIG week was a great opportunity to show the college that J-Fire is still alive and kicking, lol. And that we aren't a buncha slackers who'd simply sit back and watch anime every week >_>

Honestly I first thought that J-Fire's future looks kinda bleak with our pathetic member count, but after tagging along with your "outings" (a.k.a. cosplay prepping haha), I was genuinely impressed by the commitment you guys showed :) And extra kudos for stretching SIG week to the fullest by holding the PS2 game session and the bookmark sales. It's a pity we couldn't have the graffiti wall and the karaoke session, but seriously... great job people! it's great to see you guys working on after the tiring cosplay event, even though you have studies to deal with.

What I'm very sure of right now: J-Fire is in good hands. You guys can really run the club, no need to worry too much, haha. I have confidence in all of you!

Fanny: Just be enthu and everything will work out fine >8D It's always been like that anyway, lol.

Jiahui: Focus more on your studies and less of Kakashi, okay? Or oyajis in general... especially Mr you-know-which-teacher.

Joei: Please... just don't turn J-Fire into Y-Fire* can already.

Following will be the details of the activities tt will be carried out during the SIG week.

COSPLAY
J-Fire members will be cosplaying during the common lunch break;D look out for us!! interested students are allowed to cosplay too!

EXHIBITION
There will be an exhibition of figurines [[ like one piece figurines and gundam models etc. ]], comics. There will also be a sale of bookmarks, which is specially drawn and designed by J-Fire members. Order from us now! and you will be able to collect yours on Friday! Our booth will be at the atrium.

GRAFFITI
Boards will be placed around our booth in the atrium, so you can draw/doodle on it!! Draw your favourite character, your own characters, or some fan arts!!

KARAOKE SESSION
There will be a small karaoke session on Friday in the ATRIUM! However, the choice of music is mainly J-POP or anime songs!! Showcase your music talent on friday!!!

PS2 GAME BATTLE SHOWDOWN
Naruto and Bleach battle games will be showcased, come have a match showdown with your friends on TUESDAY COMMON LUNCH BREAK AT THE ATRIUM!!

i understand tt som cca are alr starting their sessions tis wk but except us since u all haven receive our notice yet..
For this, i m SUPER SORRY !!
cos the j2 are having their examinations nx wk, we decided to push the 1st mtin to nx nx fri thn which is the 1st wk of march ... well ... we cn do tt since we r nt controlled by teachers =) lol

anyway jus to inform interested people tt jfire will be havin their first mtin in march n yup the activities we hav in minds :

1st session -RELAX!!
1) play games- to get to know each other (:
2)Watch movie ! - any good films in mind cn tell us . will screen the movie based on avaliability n popular demand
3)briefing about JFIRE, an interest group- about stuffs we do, qns n ans, exco positions, sgc etc... lol
4) informing plans for nx session n confirming memberships

tt shld be briefly about it. to mak u all happy, we will be treating u guys with snacks to enjoy the movie better. dun jus cum for the snacks though ! lol =P

thks to an idea contributed by pauline, we have to mak a ''stand'' tt is suppose to be life size in preparation for cca bazaar. Due to the demand by certain ppl tt thy wan the pics of the ''board'' (since we r unable to mak it stand ) so here it goes =)

TADA! this is the final result of our hardwork. haha =D Though from the pic, the board seem to be small. BUT hey it is nt rally so! it is about my height man !!! about 157cm long ~ n the handsome guy in the pic was SITTING DOWN som mor ! lol =)

i know tt it has been a while since the last time tt shaoqi updated for the farewell party ! =) (thks shaoqi)

and yes!!! the ans to som ppl that JFIRE is still IN OPERATION.

Anyway the movie screening this year was ok~~ though it has not rally been carried out pretty smoothly ..hmm ....

BUT, JFIRE is goin to hav a japanese language efficiency course !!! WHEE !!! =D

IN ADDITION, we will hav one of the game stations nx yr ard jan for 2009 batch jc1 !
n the game we will be carrying out is still..... a secret ! XD

Following that, JFIRE will be preparing for the school CCA exhibition 2009 !
Recruiting yet another yr of new members.

these wooden toys were wrapped in toilet rolls and construction paper. and ribbons. really cute animals. they dance if you press the base from the bottom! pauline's orange hippo's head was far too huge to fit in a toilet roll. so it had a wierd shape.hmmm. hope you guys liked them...i wonder who got the tiger...

p.s. shaoqi i knw u took photos, yea so create a new post and talk about it from your point of view and the preparation you all went thru.

yea, one jfire meeting before the farewell, we were chased to go home soon after we discussed all the necessary stuff. We refused, since it was our last meeting with them, so we stayed on..
We soon observed isolation ( hahas! ) and they went to a corner and had a very interesting talk going on. They seemed enthusiatic in they way they speaked and i thought, woah, they can really run the club. phew! we need not worry much =)

p.s. we have confidence in you all!!

gone were the days where we can stay on every friday for jfire meeting, watching interesting anime and jdrama with the rest and getting the ideas we have to become reality.

( p.s. manga productions jiayou! yea and the cosplay!! and the j-dance!! go people you all can do it. )

Not long, we receive an invitation card from our lovely ( you girls are really sweet. i was touched okay.hahas so was ah paul. ) juniors and was surprised that it was actually planned. the card was indeed a job well done and i wondered what to expect on that day..

Whee! yea and that day came and we were greeted with ballons popping in our face. LOL. we didn't dare go in. But considering they had such an idea, it really hyped us up and we seniors went high, high up and above.

p.s. see senior pictures from shao qi to know why ( we amused for a long time before we settled down. )

From the above picture, they had decorated the board with drawings and words and our names. whooo~ honoured =D

hey, huiling here..

was thinking wanna update on our outing. our first outing with the J1s. yup.

heehs, i wanna post pictures nehh but really hope you all dun mind la, ok?

warning: do not be too conscious of yourself. you look absolutely fine!!

okies, firstly, here is myyyyy bento set. lol.

it is soba(cold noodles) and tempura, accompanied with salad, orange, pickled vegetables and wasabe i have no use for ( since no raw meat mah).

it is really sumo-like can, lol, super big portions. i was full. plus, it is at an incredible price of $5.90. though it is not as nice as other jap food i have eaten, it was worth every cent. lols.

this is our president pauline and janice, enjoying their meal. sorry for such a shot because i know that both of you will never and i mean never pose nicely for me to take a pic of you girls. its okay, u look natural here =).

here is amelia aka mei nu, our vp. lol she sat opposite me, so take pic alone lol. yum yum, she and her tempura with udon. though the tempura is soaked, but she seems to enjoy it still. happy little girl ^^.

now, sujun and vanessa. lol, they were quite shocked la when i asked them to smile for a picture. at least they were spontaneous enough. heehs.

this is a special close-up to vanessa's sushi and udon set. see how large is the sushi!! >< ( you can compare it with the size of the tea cup in the pic.. )

plus, see the ball of wasabe beside the sushi. lol, they were saying that it looked like play dough?

yea. later, i think i was too bloated and didn't take anymore photos. Yixuan, Ruixuan and Michelle also joined us later.

though it wasn't very exciting an outing, but i felt it was a good break from the weekly meetings we hold in the classroom of nanyang jc. lol. we found the way to sumo house with a map, courtesy of xinni. overall, it was good.

random: see the circled people? lol they are none other than our fellow jfire members namely pauline, janice, vanessa and sujun. they walk very slow can. amelia and i have to wait for them to catch up and to take a pic of them lol. they walk a step, then stop to talk and the cycle goes on till they stroll all the way to amk hub. interesting! lol ><

i suggest we shall have another outing and go eat again.. lol i want spicy ramen!!!^^ loves. hahas but pauline says they taste like maggie mee. so different i feel.

whether ramen or not, we are still going streetfest right? be free on that day! ( so cool i wanna see streetfest but have no idea how i am going to fit in with the non-jappy clothes i haf, or we dun haf to dress up? )

Story synopsis (stolen from wikipedia AGAIN):

Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the great onmyouji Abe no Seimei, who passed his teachings on to his grandson. Masahiro lost his sixth sense and the ability to see spirits because his grandfather sealed it away for his own safety, but with Mokkun (or Guren) as his guide, he works to become the best onmyouji ever!
Little by little, Masahiro reveals his true power, with Mokkun as his protector and the other shikigami slowly starting to acknowledge him as Seimei's successor. Trying hard to become the best onmyouji, to surpass his grandfather-"the old fox demon" or "kitsune"- he has to stop the foreign demons who came from China and keep his promise of protecting the princess of the Fujiwara Clan.After defeating the demons from China, Masahiro returns back to his normal routine. However, a mysterious woman named Kazune comes and summons a vengeful spirit to wreck havoc in the capital(Aka Kyoto). It is later discovered that her purpose is to kill Masahiro's grandfather, Who she thought killed her parents. Now Seimei and Masahiro have to deal with this new opponent.

YAY! Congratz to me! I finally endure sickness, lack of sleep, missing homeworks to finish the Anime MONSTER. Freaking 74 epidsode in 2 weeks time. Almost died doing so. HEhe. Super happy right now. Oh, by the way is Pauline here :)

Monster is a very different anime from the usual ones I watch. It is kind of exciting, terrifying and yet it is one of the most meaningful anime you can ever find. It shows you aspects of different views in life and it is so mentally challenging. It is not the kind of anime which you will just laugh and forget. This anime strucks you deeps in terms of emotionally and spirtually. It is a must watch for all those who enjoy knowing more about deepness in a story rather than just the plot.

while his power was sealed, he appeared as a 15/16 yr old boy only.

One day, 6 魔人 escaped from the underworld

to the human world.

REFLECTIONS

lol, as u've guessed

the storyline is pretty typical

what makes this manga stand out from others *aside from e overabandance of muscles*

is probably the exciting way in which the author depicted each scene!

This series is an overload of fights and more fights

but u can rest assured that unlike bleach and naruto,

half of the fights are pretty fast

prob cos 魔帝 is so powerful (:

of cos, what we love so much abt bleach and naruto fights are not lost in 魔帝

e other half of the fights are pretty hardcore n really exciting (:

AND,

what is a manga without humour?

this series has the right amount of humour injected at the right parts

魔帝 himself is a walking joker!

He is jus such a dynamic character!

->violent *all the time*

->powerful *all the time*

->sadistic

->sympathic *but nvr doing much to help*

->sensitive

->righteous

To add to the depth,

appropriate dark parts are introduced

魔帝 and his friends' dark past

and the enemies seemed to have a hidden agenda which have yet been revealed at bk 17

overall,

a fast pace series which will have u picking up bk after bk (:

*ps: dont b deterred by the overabundance of muscles,

it's still gt gd illustrations

which is highly expressive and the facial features are actually quite pretty!

pardon mi for my overload of jrock pics, icons... can't blame mi for being an overly obsessed fangirl! XD

alrite.. i decided that outta my boredom i would provide u all some sort of entertainment... ta-da! weekly anime review!! ^_^ (i was extremely tempted to give u my daily jrock review!!=X)

GINTAMA

End of Edo period, aliens called "Amanto" began to invade the Earth, and the war between the Earth and Amanto broke out. During the war, many samurai lost their lives. However, the Earth was no match for the overwhelming weapons of Amand, and they surrendered to Amando...blah blah blah...

The story takes place around a samuri and their buddies who live in this hard time for samurai.

Gintoki, the main 'hero', is simply a lazy bum who tries to get his way out everytime during rent collection day -_-'', seemingly the MOST unmotivated protagonist in an anime ever! n this is just the start of the many puns n parodies in it, making it wonderfully hilarious n entertaining~~

Almost every epi will make u laugh, well.. it did for mi! XD

some of the parodies r like the Shinsengumi (those who watched Peacemaker shld know *winks*) where they made Sougo (aka. Souji) n Hijitaka apparent enemies. it is ridiculous sometimes how these characters can act such silly deeds, but this is the fun of life isn't it? being silly n having fun, all the time moving on... n in the midst of all the humor, there is always a touching story behind which reflects our mistakes n enlighten us on our self-centered ways.

Looking for some laughs n yet some meaning in animes?? Give 'Gintama' a try!
